Diminishing The Darkness By Lifting Up the Marvelous
Light Of Jesus Christ

What exactly is the Word of God?
I know that this sounds like a silly question, but have you ever really thought about it?
|
What the “Word of God” means to most people is a black, leather bound
book with gold edged pages with the words “Holy Bible” on the spine and
cover. But this is NOT God’s Word. The Bible is the written
record of what God has said, and everything He has said is true.
But even this is NOT God’s Word.
|
Let me ask you a question. Is YOUR
WORD any good? Can I trust you to keep your WORD? If you
make me a promise or we enter into a contract, can you be trusted to
fulfill your part? What evidence or guarantee do I have that your
WORD is any good?
God’s WORD IS GOOD, and only
good all the time. The entire Bible is legal testimony to the
fact that He fulfills every promise and contract and is legal testimony
of His flawless reputation. In fact, Good Faith comes by hearing
and hearing of the good reputation of God (Romans 10:17). God
actually WARRANTEES His Word by stating that should He ever lie or breach any contract, He would relinquish His Godhead.
The “Word of God” is that which God (Father, Son, Holy Spirit) has
said. And God considers every promise and statement of fact that
He has said to be a legally binding contract, made in Good Faith.
God and God’s Word does not have integrity. God IS integrity! His Word is the very embodiment of that integrity.
Hallelujah! God’s Word is always good and always given in good faith.

Do Not Be Anxious
Over Money
It Only Makes the
Problem Worse
|
Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in GOD, and
trust also in Me. (NLT-John 14:1). Anxious thoughts over the economy are
bearing down heavily on most people all over the world. The dire state of the
economy and projections of worse times ahead have got even the most optimistic
tempering their hopes for a quick solution and unwittingly slipping into
anxious thoughts over money.
How bad will things get? Will my business survive?
Will I get fired? What will I do if I lose my job? How will I provide for
myself? Who will solve this problem? I
have to admit that sometimes I just get really tempted to worry and then get
mad at the politicians, Wall Street, anything! But this does not solve the
problem it only seems to get worse!
This is what it says in Matthew 6:24 "you can't
worship two gods at once. Loving one god, you'll end up hating the other.
Adoration of one feeds contempt for the other. You can't worship God and money
both" (Message translation) This passage is really saying that I need to
make up my mind on who to worship; I either worship money or God. I make money
my God whenever in my thinking I consider that more money is the solution to my
problems whether it concerns my daily food, shelter, relations or anything
else. As long as I worship money, I am quick to blame everything that is going
wrong on God. Yet, this is at best, contemptuous of God! Rather than anxious
thoughts, consider the following principles:
1. "Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought
for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your
body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than
raiment?" (KJV Mat 6:25).
2.There you have it! It is not a suggestion on good
living. Here, Jesus instructed that as a believer, I should not be preoccupied
with anxious thoughts over daily needs but rather to trust God for my
provision.
3."What I'm trying to do here is to get you to
relax, to not be so preoccupied with getting, so you can respond to God's
giving. People who don't know God and the way he works fuss over these things,
but you know both God and how he works.” (MSSG: Mat 6:31-32). Simply put,
anxiety only makes the problem worse. Fixing my thoughts on God will cause me
to relax and able to see clearly into the wisdom of God necessary to get me out
of the hole!
4."But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and
his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you" (KJV Mat
6:33). This is even clearer in the Message translation "Steep your life in
God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. Don't worry about missing out.
You'll find all your everyday human concerns will be met". I must make a
conscious decision to meditate and focus my thoughts on God's awesome ability
to get me out rather than being bogged down in anxious thoughts that only
worsen the problem.
The end of anxious thoughts is the promise:"
And God is able to make all grace (every favor and earthly blessing) come to
you in abundance, so that you may always and under all circumstances and
whatever the need be self-sufficient [possessing enough to require no aid or
support and furnished in abundance for every good work and charitable
donation]." (Amp 2 Cor. 9:8)
So why get anxious over the economy, politicians and
Wall Street? Today, choose to practice generosity. Instead of getting worried
all day long, why not go to your church and give of your time and resources
towards helping someone else who is hurting? Look around your community and you
will find many far worse off than you!
To get the promise of Godly abundance (2 Cor. 9:8)
you need to do what verse 7 says: "Let each one [give] as he has made up
his own mind and purposed in his heart, not reluctantly or sorrowfully or under
compulsion, for God loves (He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, and
is unwilling to abandon or to do without) a cheerful (joyous, "prompt to
do it") giver [whose heart is in his giving].
The cure to an anxious heart is giving to
another. This is a powerful way to get your mind off your personal problems so
that you can receive the wisdom of God on how to get out of the present crisis.
